As a world-renowned specialist, Dr. Thomas Azman’s passion is helping low vision patients of all ages to regain their ability to read, write, play cards and enjoy things like painting and watching live theatre. Having dedicated more than 36 years to his profession, he treats challenging diseases such as albinism, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, macular degeneration, retinitis pigmentosa and Stargardt’s.
Receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland, Dr. Azman went on to obtain his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama School of Optometry, the Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama in 1975. He is a Fellow of the International Academy of Low Vision Specialists and a member of the Low Vision Rehabilitation Section of the American Optometric Association.
His patients have awarded him the title of “Miracle Eye Doctor”, but with a success rate of over 98%, the title is well earned. Dr. Azman and his staff give patients the best service available and help get them on the road to independence, even when other professionals have told them there is no help available for their condition.
Dr. Azman’s talents have led him to extensive travel, treating patients as far away as Australia and Thailand. With multiple locations throughout Maryland, patients can meet with him at offices in Annapolis, Baltimore, Bethesda, Columbia, Dundalk, Frederic, Glen Burnie, Pikesville, and Timonium. He also offers home visits for patients who are unable to come to the office.
