Dr. Doan earned his doctorate in optometry from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. He did his externship at the Light House for the Blind in New York, New York.
Professional: Dr. Kennan Doan, Optometric Physician Dr. Doan is a member of the American Optometric Association’s Low Vision Rehabilitation division as well as the Arkansas Optometric Association. He is also the Clinical Director of the Arkansas School for the Blind and the previous president of the Prevention of Blindness.
Dr. Doan’s special interests include using cutting-edge technology to diagnose and treat eye problems such as glaucoma, diabetes, and cataracts. He also fits patients with speciality scleral contact lenses who have damaged corneas due to keratoconus, pellucid maginal dystrophy, post refractive surgery (RK, PRK, LASIK, etc.) or scarred corneas. Patients with low vision problems can also get low vision examinations and devices from Dr. Doan.
Dr. Doan is a third-generation optometrist, following in the footsteps of his late father and grandparents. Dr. Doan enjoys spending time with his family and golfing in his spare time.
