Dr. Erin Kenny
Dr. Erin Kenny graduated with a Bachelor’s in Biological Sciences from the University of Pittsburgh before going on to receive her doctorate from Salus University Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Additionally, she completed residency training at William Feinbloom Vision Rehabilitation Center as well as becoming a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Kenny’s clinical interests include low vision care as well as contact lens management – something she has presented on at both national and international conferences and lectures.
As well as her work with Ohio State University, Dr. Pogue runs a successful private practice in Upper Arlington and teaches optometry at Ohio State College of Optometry. Her research interests center around ankylosing spondylitis – an inflammatory form of arthritis that affects spine. Furthermore, she has examined predictors for osteoporosis development among patients suffering from systemic lupus erythematosus, an autoimmune disease which causes joint damage.
Dr. Wilkinson has dedicated most of her professional life to teaching and research in optometry. She was honored as the Glenn A Fry Lecturer by the American Academy of Optometry, served on committees for several major optometric publications, wrote several textbooks and edited Clinical Applications of Prisms as editor; furthermore she served in leadership capacities including Presidentship with American Optometric Association.
Dr. Erin Stoltman
Dr. Erin Stoltman of UCSF’s Rheumatology Clinic specializes in caring for patients suffering from inflammatory autoimmune diseases like ankylosing spondylitis and systemic lupus erythematosus. Her research interests center around tracking progression in these conditions as well as identifying predictive factors of osteoporosis development; furthermore she works towards improving diagnosis and management of eye complications related to these illnesses.
She earned both her undergraduate and doctorate degrees at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN; The Ohio State University in Columbus; Beta Sigma Kappa optometric honor society membership; Fellow status with American Academy of Optometry membership and teaching position with Kansas City VA Medical Center’s Low Vision Rehabilitation Clinic and Neuro-Ophthalmic Disease Service service areas.
Dr. Pizzimenti, an internationally-recognized speaker, author, researcher in cornea and contact lens science is widely recognized for her contributions in these fields. As an internationally recognized clinician educator and author, she has written over 625 scientific articles as well as lectured extensively on such subjects as diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration and vitreomacular adhesion. Additionally she holds memberships at both the American Academy of Optometry as well as International Retina and Cornea Society where she presented at numerous national/international meetings.
Dr. Stoltman takes great pleasure in working with individuals of all ages and needs – particularly those living with complex visual impairments. She takes great pride in providing high-quality patient care by prioritizing continuing education and working closely with local physicians, eye specialists, and public service agencies to coordinate patient care as well as low vision training and vocational rehabilitation services. She provides access to state-of-the-art adaptive technology and participates in the Ohio Bioptic Driving Program, with satellite centers in Butler, Warren and Clermont Counties for Ohio Bioptic Drivers. In addition, she offers many services for people living with blindness or low vision including individual evaluation and instruction on various low vision aids as well as strategies for making use of remaining vision.
Dr. Erin Wilkinson
Dr. Sue Zadnik is a professor at The Ohio State University College of Optometry and an internationally-recognized leader in optometric research and education. She has received multiple teaching awards – such as the Glenn A. Fry Award from the American Academy of Optometry – as well as serving on numerous advisory boards both domestically and abroad. Her work has been published widely as journals articles or textbooks such as Clinical Applications of Prisms.
Born and raised in Brainerd, Minnesota. After earning her Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology from Gustavus Adolphus College, she then attended Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University to earn her Doctorate. Furthermore, she completed a low vision residency at Feinbloom Center and won their William Feinbloom Low Vision Rehabilitation Award as part of this course of study.
As well as practicing optometry clinically, she serves as an assistant professor at the University of Houston College of Optometry where she teaches and conducts research in cornea, contact lenses and refractive error. Additionally, she has received grants from the National Eye Institute to investigate adult myopia progression; and serves on the board of directors for UH’s Summer Internship Program.
She is an award-winning speaker and author, recognized nationally. As a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and member of Optometric Retina Society, she has given over 625 lectures across North America as well as published articles for professional journals such as CL Spectrum, Review of Cornea & Contact Lenses, and CL Today. Among others, her research areas of focus are diabetes, age-related macular degeneration, vitreomacular adhesions, low vision.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with family. Additionally, she volunteers at her local animal shelter and is active within the church community. Photography and art are among her many interests. Additionally, she holds membership of both the American Optometric Association and Academy of Optometry; with particular expertise in strabismus treatment for pediatrics as well as binocular vision issues.
