To provide low vision specialists with a series of contrast-enhancing filters created especially for the low vision patient, Eschenbach and Dioptics Medical Products have teamed. There are five lens tints available for Solar Shield®filters: gray, yellow, amber, orange, and plum (new!). Only eyecare and rehabilitation specialists may provide consumers with access to these comprehensive protection filters. Small, Medium (Oval), and Large frame sizes are available for Solar Shield® contrast-enhancing filters. The tiny frame will suit patients who use smaller eyeglasses or no eyeglasses at all, while the medium and large sizes will snugly fit over a patient’s regular eyeglasses. Small frames (replacing Cateye) fit over prescription frames with dimensions no larger than 5 1/2″w x 1 5/8″h (142mm × 42mm). A=60 mm, B=40 mm. Since the polarization in the gray polarized lens eliminates reflecting glare, it is perfect for outdoor usage and offers genuine color depiction. 100% of UVA/UVB and 100% of visible light up to 400 nm are blocked by it.
