Earning her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Houston and a Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1994, Dr. Mona V. Douglas now offers advanced eye care services in low vision to patients around Louisiana.
As a member of the International Academy of Low Vision Specialists, the American Optometry Association and the Texas Optometric Association, Dr. Douglas helps patients who suffer from an assortment of vision impairing conditions. She prides herself on being able to give her patients the chance to regain their independence and enjoyment in life by being able to read, recognize faces, watch TV, and even drive.
Dr. Douglas and her husband, Drew Douglas, O.D. are settled in Tyler, Texas, with their twin children, a boy and a girl. There, they have a primary care practice and enjoy spending time with family and being active in both their church and children’s activities.
Being a native of south Louisiana, Dr. Douglas finds it gratifying to be able to offer specialized low vision services to the people in her area.
