To provide low vision specialists with a series of contrast-enhancing filters created especially for the low vision patient, Eschenbach and Dioptics Medical Products have teamed. There are five lens tints available for Solar Shield®filters: gray, yellow, amber, orange, and plum (new!). Only eyecare and rehabilitation specialists may provide consumers with access to these comprehensive protection filters. Small, Medium (Oval), and Large frame sizes are available for Solar Shield® contrast-enhancing filters. The tiny frame will suit patients who use smaller eyeglasses or no eyeglasses at all, while the medium and large sizes will snugly fit over a patient’s regular eyeglasses. In place of Aviator, large frames up to 6″ wide by 2″ high (153mm x 49mm) fit over Rx frames. The orange polycarbonate lens’s medium-range blue light filtering is perfect for boosting contrast and enhancing visual sharpness. It completely blocks UVA/UVB rays and all visible light up to 521 nm.
