A series of contrast-enhancing filters created especially for low vision patients is now available to low vision practitioners thanks to a collaboration between Eschenbach and Dioptics Medical Products. Five lens tints, including gray, yellow, amber, orange, and plum (new! ), are offered by Solar Shield®filters. Consumers may only get these comprehensive protection filters from eyecare and rehabilitation specialists. There are three frame sizes for SolarShield® contrast-enhancing filters: Small, Medium (Oval), and Large. The medium and large sizes will easily fit over a patient’s conventional eyeglasses, while the tiny frame will accommodate patients who have smaller eyewear or who do not use any eyewear at all. Large frames, which replace Aviator frames, fit over Rx frames up to 6″ wide by 2″ high, or 153mm by 49mm. Since the polarization reduces reflecting glare, the gray polarized lens offers realistic color presentation and is perfect for outdoor use. It completely blocks UVA/UVB rays and all visible light up to 400 nm.
