To provide low vision specialists with a series of contrast-enhancing filters created especially for the low vision patient, Eschenbach and Dioptics Medical Products have teamed. Five lens tints, including gray, yellow, amber, orange, and plum (new! ), are offered by Solar Shield®filters. Only eyecare and rehabilitation specialists may provide consumers with access to these comprehensive protection filters. Small, Medium (Oval), and Large frame sizes are available for Solar Shield® contrast-enhancing filters. The tiny frame will suit patients who use smaller eyeglasses or no eyeglasses at all, while the medium and large sizes will snugly fit over a patient’s regular eyeglasses. In place of Aviator, large frames up to 6″ wide by 2″ high (153mm x 49mm) fit over Rx frames. The medium range blue light filtering of the amber polycarbonate lens, which is perfect for enhancing contrast and enhancing visual acuity, is provided by blue light. It completely filters out UVA/UVB rays and all visible light up to 511 nm.
